MediaWiki
Mediawiki is a useful tool for organizing information in a collaborative manner. There are a number of advantages:
- Its ability to store information is even more flexible than a notebook. You can create an extremely detailed page, or a series of detailed pages. Or you can add a single sentence to an existing page, or create a stub. There’s always a place to store information of any amount.
- Mediawiki is an excellent way to present information. Its user interface is both appealing and familiar to most people.
I’ve wanted to use Mediawiki to organize information in a solo manner since I was in middle school. But until recently, the technology was far beyond my reach. Not long ago, I decided revive the idea. After a week of frenzied consternation in Fall 2018 (as well as a number of setbacks even after I got to work), I finally got it set up.
On this page I document the struggles and successes I have had in working with Mediawiki.
